As part of the revolutionary new “Amapiano To Ibiza” EP, local music sensations Major League DJz, have given the classic house hit, “Most Precious Love”, a homegrown twist.
The original song, which was produced, written and recorded by the legendary American duo Blaze, has been a dance floor favourite since its release in 2004.
The track was further elevated with the powerful vocals of Barbara Tucker alongside the musical collective U.D.A.U.F.L. (Underground Dance Artists United For Life).
And as the single continues to set the music and party scene alight over two decades, its remix by the twin brothers, whose real names are Bandile and Benele Mbere, seeks to breathe new life into the iconic house anthem.
“Most Precious Love” quickly soared to the top of the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart while also making waves in the UK.
As the track reaches its 20th anniversary, it stands as a testament to the enduring power of house music and its ability to evolve across generations
Major League DJz have been tasked with the challenge of reinterpreting this beloved classic as they infuse it with their signature amapiano sound.
“Their fresh take on ‘Most Precious Love’ not only pays homage to the timeless essence of Blaze's original but also bridges the gap between house music and the vibrant amapiano scene, introducing the track to a new generation of listeners,” a statement read.
Meanwhile, the sibling’s remix arrives at a pivotal moment for the amapiano genre, which continues to explode in popularity across the globe.
“Major League DJz, at the forefront of this movement, continue to push boundaries with their reinterpretations, blending the soulful roots of house music with the distinctive energy of amapiano,” the statement added.
The brothers also shared their excitement about their new remixed single.
“We’ve always admired the soulful energy of ‘Most Precious Love’,” they said.
“It’s a track that resonates with so many people across the world and bringing our amapiano flavour to this classic was a dream come true for us and we hope it connects with fans old and new.”
Their release marks the third single from the “Amapiano to Ibiza” EP, following the successful drops of Rosey Gold's and Jay Music’s rendition of "The Dominator," which is a fresh reinterpretation of Human Resource's iconic '90s Ibiza anthem
The second track to be released from the EP was the amapiano remix of Dennis Ferrer’s "Touched the Sky" by DBN Gogo, featuring Effected, Triple X Da Ghost and Mia Tuttavilla.
The “Amapiano to Ibiza” EP, which will be released in September, will feature a collection of amapiano reinterpretations of classic Ibiza house tracks. This innovative project aims to bridge musical worlds.
Kelvin Momo, 2woBunnies and Thuto The Human are also set to feature on upcoming tracks.
“The EP continues to showcase the duo's unique ability to blend amapiano with global dance music, creating a sound that resonates on dance floors from Johannesburg to Ibiza.”
And as this remix sees Major League DJz continue to push the boundaries of their sound as they blend genres and cultures to create music that’s both innovative and deeply rooted in tradition, “Most Precious Love” is once again set to become a staple on dance floors.
But this time, it will have an amapiano twist that’s sure to captivate audiences worldwide.
