Justin Bieber’s 2010 hit “Baby”, ft. Ludacris, yes, the track that got stuck in our heads for months, has joined Spotify’s billion streams club.
Yes, that earworm from the early Bieber Fever days just became another feather in the pop star’s cap, extending his record as the artist with the most songs reaching more than a billion streams in Spotify’s history.
“Baby”, the lead single from Bieber’s debut studio album, “My World 2.0”, was co-written by a power team that included Ludacris, Christina Milian, Tricky Stewart and The-Dream.
When it first hit the charts, it debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Bieber’s highest-charting single in the US at the time. Fast forward to today, and “Baby” is certified platinum 12 times over by the RIAA.
The song didn’t just break streaming records – back in 2010, “Baby” earned nominations for various awards, including the MTV Video Music Awards and Teen Choice Awards.
With its catchy chorus and Ludacris’s smooth rap verse, it became an anthem for Beliebers worldwide.
The timing of the new achievement is interesting too. Bieber recently became a dad, welcoming his first child with wife Hailey Bieber.
In a sweet Instagram post on August 23, he shared the news of his new bundle of joy, introducing baby Jack Blues Bieber to the world.
