American singer and songwriter Doja Cat is always making a noise on social media.
If she’s not wearing questionable fashion, she is dragging her South African dad, Dumisani Dlamini, for being a “deadbeat”.
She recently had a meltdown on social media. She took to Instagram to shame her father for not having the looks he did in his youth and said he needed some make-up.
“Dad, let me know when/if you need me to re-up your make-up cabinet cuz [because] you’re a b****,” she wrote.
She continued: “I got Urban Decay, I got Pat McGrath Labs, I got Fenty, I got Scott Barnes, let me know, I got your back, sis.”
While her followers are used to her controversy, some called her out for disrespecting her father.
“You are messing with the wrong one, Zulu’s don’t play. Your ancestors will humble you,” said one of her followers.
The artist responded: “Go give the deadbeat a kiss on the lips for me.”
However, on May 28, she edited her post and said: “Jk [Just kidding] love you, I was mad.”
Those close to her father say he tried to see her but his plans failed because of Covid-19 in 2020.
“Dumisani mentioned his wish to meet his daughter in the US before and after her fame. Covid-19 blocked all our plans but we are still hopeful of their meeting as father and daughter primarily, and the proposed concert will be secondary as the latter is not a priority.
“I urged Dumisani to keep on trying to meet his daughter, even if it means travelling to her mom’s house in the US 🇺🇸 where he would sincerely apologise for his long absence,” commented @business_malcolm_x.
Dlamini is known to have many children, and the youngest is seven years old. Although he doesn’t have a relationship with Doja Cat, whom he named Zandile, he posts her pictures on his Instagram page.
