Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas has again overhauled his starting line-up for Tuesday’s Caf Confederation Cup clash against Zimamoto in Zanzibar.
Solinas has once more rested the likes of Itumeleng Khune, Godfrey Walusimbi, Leonardo Castro and Siyabonga Ngezana, although the latter duo are on the bench.
Ryan Moon will get an opportunity to start in place of Castro, while Virgil Vries will be between the posts.
Right back Ramahlwe Mphahlele has been ruled out with an injury, which sees Daniel Cardoso getting a chance.
Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya makes a welcome return at left back, while centrebacks Erick Mathoho and Teenage Hadebe remain intact, having started in the 2-1 defeat to Golden Arrows.
Siphelele Ntshangase, Hendrick Ekstein, Bernard Parker and Lebogang Manyama will lead the Chiefs attack, while Willard Katsande will captain the team in Khune’s absence.
The Amakhosi won the first leg 4-0, and will be expected to emerge victorious in Zanzibar today (3pm SA time kickoff).
“The pitch is an artificial turf, which is different from what we are used to, but it does allow the play to flow,” Solinas told the Kaizer Chiefs website.
“Also, it’s very humid, which will bring another element into play. We will once again manage the squad, considering the number of back-to-back matches we are playing and the travelling.”
Kick-off is at 15h00. The match will not be televised #HailTheChief #Amakhosi4Life pic.twitter.com/2VLMBO3knM
