CAPE TOWN – Mamelodi Sundowns have received a triple injury blow ahead of Friday night’s must-win Caf Champions League clash against AS Togo-Port.
Masandawana announced on their website that Bafana Bafana star Andile Jali, as well as Liberian Anthony Laffor, have been ruled out with hamstring injuries, while George Lebese won’t feature at Lucas Moripe Stadium either due to flu.
But coach Pitso Mosimane has urged his players to go all out for victory as Sundowns have just two points from their first three games.
They are still smarting from the shock 1-0 defeat to AS Togo-Port in Lome last week, where they missed a number of chances to score.
“That match in Togo was the easiest away game we have played in the Champions League,” Mosimane told the Sundowns website.
“Even PSL away games haven’t been this easy. We created about four or five chances. We were even one-on-one against the goalkeeper, and we didn’t take it. I expect them to park the bus here.
“You know how the Champions League is like. So we’ll have to move the bus. We have to move the bus and try and shift it to score so that we find ourselves in a good position.”
Fans are reminded that they will receive free entry if they wear the Sundowns regalia, otherwise tickets cost R20 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.
