CAPE TOWN – Masandawana, want to watch your favourite team in action – for mahala?
Well, Friday’s the day to do it!
Pitso Mosimane’s Mamelodi Sundowns side will take on AS Togo-Port in a do-or-die Caf Champions League clash at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville at 9pm.
And after going down in a shock 1-0 defeat to the same team in Lome last week, Sundowns have to win to stay alive in the tournament as they have just three points from two matches, so they need all the support they can get.
“It was one of the easiest games we have played in the Champions League,” Mosimane told the club website about the loss in Togo.
“But possession doesn’t win you games, you must score. This now means that we have to win our home games.
“If you don’t win your home games, then it’s done because you will not go to the knockout stage. We are under pressure now. We have to win.
“The three-point gap Wydad (Casablanca) has puts everyone in the soup, that no one has really qualified. We all have to play for it. That’s good.”
That is why the ‘Brazilians’ have issued a rallying call to their fans to make their way to the stadium on Friday night, and they will be allowed in for free if they wear the Sundowns “regalia”.
If you don’t don any club kit, you will have to pay R20 for entry.
