DURBAN - AmaZulu have reinforced their strike force with the signing of Bongi Ntuli on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.
Ntuli will team up with his new teammates tomorrow. He was recently in Sweden where he was on trial at Djugarderns. The Swedish Giants were impressed but couldn't agreed terms with his manager, Mandla Mthembu.
Media Officer at AmaZulu, Brilliant Mkhathini, confirmed to Independent Media that they have signed Ntuli. "Yes I can confirm to you that Ntuli has joined us on loan form Sundowns. We are happy to have a player of his calibre at the club. He will start training with the team tomorrow," Mkhathini said.
Rhulani Manzini has made way for Ntuli. "We have reached an agreement with Chippa United for the services of Rhulani Manzini. He is leaving tomorrow to join Chippa," Mkhathini elaborated.
Ntuli will compete with the likes of Mabhudi Khenyeza, Mhlengi Cele and Emiliano Tade for the starting berth at Usuthu. Independent Online reported this week that Ntuli was set to join Usuthu. Ntuli has been on loan to Platinum Stars for the past three seasons.
Three and half seasons ago, he was on loan at Usuthu. He tried his best to save Usuthu from relegation but his efforts weren't enough to take AmaZulu from the bottom of the log.
Ntuli will be looking to make an instant impact at Usuthu. AmaZulu have started the season on a front foot collecting six points put of the possible nine. They possess a 100% record at home, having beaten Baroka and Free State Stars. The only defeat for Usuthu came against SuperSport United away from home. Usuthu will visit Bidvest Wits at Bidvest Stadium on Wednesday in an Absa Premiership encounter.
