CAPE TOWN – The new away kit released by Cape Town City on Wednesday proved to be such a hit with the fans that even some Kaizer Chiefs supporters are saying it’s the best in the PSL.
The Citizens unveiled their new alternate kit today – after showing off their 2018/19 home jersey on Tuesday.
The away jersey looks completely different from last season’s edition. It is still largely white, but the changes come in the detail.
The big gold band across the chest is gone, with the sponsors’ name now written in navy blue. In fact, any evidence of gold has been removed.
There are now grey horizontal stripes throughout, which has a Western Province rugby jersey kind of effect, while the colour is also a round-neck navy – with two buttons added as well.

The sleeves have the kit sponsor Umbro’s logo embroidered in white on a navy background.
Durban outfit AmaZulu were the first to send City a compliment on Twitter, posting a meme saying “Impressive!”, while a number of other fans said it was a must-have and that they liked the new look.
Then Amakhosi fan Yanga Macozoma (@ymacozoma) said: “Love the detail print on sleeve best in the league yet this coming from a Kaizer Chiefs fan”, while another Chiefs supporter @SQ_Myeza posted: “Proud Chiefs fan but I'm definitely getting myself this one. I hope you have stockists around Durban or at least have it couriered to me”
