Tips for 2025 Two Oceans Marathon runners and spectators
1. Road closures will be applicable between April 2 and 6.
2. Plan your route ahead of time, and aim to get to the start early (at least 30 minutes before the time)
3. Help avoid traffic congestion in the event precinct – kindly consider using e-hailing services, share rides, or use arranged transport such as a minivan or bus for your club or group.
3. Be safe on the roads, and don’t park illegally!
What you need to know about the race logistics
The start
The starts of both the TTOM Half and Ultra Marathons are in Main Road, Newlands. This is a short walk or bus shuttle trip from the parking areas that have been arranged at local schools. Marshalls will be on hand to direct runners and their supporters to their relevant start batches. It is a short walk from the parking areas to the start, so runners are advised to arrive early to avoid congestion.

The finish
Both races finish on the Rugby Fields at UCT. A shuttle service will take runners and their supporters back to the parking areas.
Parking Areas
Parking at UCT and near the start are both very limited. Runners are therefore advised to share lifts to the start and to be dropped off within walking distance of the start.
These parking areas will be accessible with a prepaid parking voucher purchased along with your entry. Limited additional prepaid parking vouchers will be available at Registration at the Expo.
How to get there
Runners and spectators coming from the City Centre, Northern, Southern and Eastern Suburbs, Winelands, and Hout Bay will be arriving via the M3, N2, M5 and Imam Horan Road (M24), and parking will be available at clearly signposted local schools.
The start is a short walk from the various parking areas, and marshals will guide runners to their respective starts.

From the N1 or Koeberg Road, proceed onto the M5, then the N2 westbound and then Liesbeeck Parkway (Exit 8). At Liesbeeck Parkway turn left and then proceed straight onto Campground and Palmyra Roads, where parking will be available at Groote Schuur High School fields.
From the Eastern Suburbs and Winelands areas:
Take the N2 and then the Liesbeeck Parkway offramp (Exit 8). Turn left and proceed straight onto Campground and Palmyra Roads, where parking will be available at Groote Schuur High School fields.
Alternatively, take Imam Horan Road onto Palmyra Road, where parking will be available at Groote Schuur High School fields.
From Hout Bay and the Southern Suburbs:
Limited parking is available on the Upper Campus of UCT. Discs may be purchased at Registration. Runners should arrive early and walk to the start from designated parking areas. Spectators may access the parking areas and use the shuttle service to get to the finish.
Shuttle Service
An event shuttle service will operate between the various parking areas and the finish on UCT Upper Campus, to allow friends and family to get to the finish to support their runners, and to get runners and their supporters back to their cars.
