A 43-year-old foreign national is behind bars after police in Cape Town seized drugs worth thousands of rands including mandrax, tik, and cocaine during a pre-dawn raid at a Wynberg flat on Wednesday.
The raid, conducted by members of the Anti-Economic Crime Task Team and the Provincial Counterfeit and Illicit Policing Team, took place at Grand Central Flats on Main Road at about 5am.
"Members conducted a search and seizure operation at Grand Central Flats during which they found 365 Boss mandrax tablets, 130g of tik, 20g cocaine, 100 ecstasy tablets and 9 medium crushed mandrax tablets,” said police spokesperson Aneliswe Manyana.
A 43-year-old foreign national found on the premises was arrested and detained at Wynberg South African Police Services (SAPS) for possession of drugs and dealing in drugs.
Police confirmed that the suspect will make his first court appearance in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court once officially charged.
