Renault is taking another swipe at the large luxury sedan market with a new entrant called the Talisman.
While all we have to go on for now is the accompanying teaser shot, and the knowledge that it will be revealed at the Beijing Motor Show in China next month, international media sources have pointed out that the new sedan is closely based on the Korean-market Samsung SM7.
That means it'll be more conservative than stylish, but at least there should be some good engine options in the form of two Nissan-sourced V6 engines - a 142kW 2.5 V6 and a 192kW 3.5 V6.
While Renault is clearly hoping this car will be a hit in China, it's unlikely that Renault will offer it in its more discerning global markets.
For that, Renault may well be developing a different kind of beast altogether - namely a rear-wheel drive offering that uses Mercedes-Benz technology in accordance with a recent agreement between the two companies.
