Womenswear designers, it’s your time to shine. Before you get into the festive mode make sure that you apply for the South African Fashion Week New Talent Search.
This competition is open to emerging womenswear designers who are South African-based and own brands that are no older than ten years.
To enter, you must register by December 12 to stand a chance to win R20 000 to develop your Spring/Summer 25 collection and R25 000 in social media coverage, video and photographs.
All designer applicants must supply at least one brick-and-mortar store or online store and must have been in business for less than ten years to qualify for entry.
Entries are required to submit at least seven looks to be considered. Collections registered SAFW New Talent Search may not be submitted or associated with any other fashion competition or fashion week platform taking place in South Africa during 2025/2026.
Semi-finalists are selected by a panel of industry-leading judges based on design talent, ability to follow the brief and capacity to supply stores.
Finalists will get an opportunity to showcase their collections at SA Fashion Week next year, competing for a grand prize valued at ± R45 500.
Previously, the organisation had partnered with Mr Price for the past three years for this competition and the Mr Price Scouting Menswear Competition.
“The last three seasons have been a tremendous showcase of South Africa’s most talented young designers.
“From Cyla to Robyn and most recently, Jessica-Ann, we are excited to help the next name in fashion gain a foothold in the industry through their association with our Mr. Price Scouting Menswear Competition,” said Kevin Smit, Managing Director, Mr. Price.
Entries for the South African Fashion Week New Talent Search close at 5pm on December 12.
