Renowned Springbok fly-half Handré Pollard recently took to social media to celebrate his wife, Marise, on her birthday.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, he expressed his deep affection and admiration for her.
Sharing a picture of his wife he wrote, “Happy Birthday my love. No words really to tell you how much you mean to us. You are the most beautiful person inside and out. Your kind heart and selflessness towards others and your family inspires me every day. Love doing life with you."
The couple's love story began in 2012 when they met during Handré's final year of high school.
They started dating shortly thereafter and tied the knot in 2017 at the Cavalli Estate in the Cape Winelands.
Marise, originally from Bloemendal in the Eastern Cape, is a former athlete and a travel, lifestyle, and fitness blogger.
In April 2024, the Pollards welcomed their first child, a boy named Hunter André Pollard.
The couple shared the news on Instagram, posting a black-and-white photo of their newborn and expressing their immense gratitude saying, "Hunter André Pollard. Our biggest blessing & Greatest love."
Throughout their journey, Handré and Marise have consistently showcased their deep bond and mutual support.
Last year the couple celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary.
The rugby star shared a heartfelt tribute to Marise on social media, reflecting on their journey together.
He wrote, “Happy Anniversary my love @marisepollard. It has been the most amazing 7 years and counting. Over the last 12 months the strength, courage and love that’s in your heart has been at the center of our little Family. I love you more than you will ever know. And as always can’t wait to see what the future holds for us. Love you baba xx.”
