After weeks of anticipation BET Africa has confirmed that “Queendom” will be making its regal return to screens on September 23.
After two months of Clive Morris Productions not being able to pay salaries, production was brought to a halt.
Morris had explained to IOL that being dropped by their investor at the last minute, resulted in them being unable to secure the funds needed for their co-investment in the production.
Things have turned around as on August 29, the cast and production returned to set. This was confirmed in a video posted by actress Dawn Thandeka King that featured a page showing the running order for the day.
Linda Mtoba, lead actress on Queendom, shared her excitement. “I’m thrilled that Queendom is returning to screens this September, taking the drama and intrigue to a whole new level, and I can’t wait for fans to see how these powerful storylines unfold.
“Playing Ntando has been an incredible journey, and I’m excited for viewers to see her step into her royal identity and navigate the complexities that come with it.”
Queendom picks up with a royal showdown as Prince Andile finally confronts his brother, King Banzi, about the throne.
Tholakele faces a life-changing decision, while fan favourite Ntando, now aware of her royal bloodline, grapples with some tough choices — especially regarding her brewing love triangle. Fans won't want to miss how this royal tale of love, power, and betrayal unfolds.
New episodes of Queendom will start airing on September 23, Monday to Thursday at 6.30pm.
