Abonglie Salli, popularly  known as Abobo is a ''30- year- old''  teacher, by profession  from Cape Town and a devoted father . Abobo captured  the hearts of many South Africans  by vocalising   his experience about fatherhood. His sincere and emotional storytelling of losing his mother at a young age, has earned him admiration beyond the competition.

Recently evicted from the 'Big Brother 'house on Sunday alongside Siphesihle and Mshini who were part of the top ten, counting 63 in the house the stakes are high getting high moving to finale with just five housemates left who will be the winner.

Struggling with mental health on the Big brother house 

Abobo spoke to IOL in a interview about facing certain challenges which put his mental health at risk. He openly spoke about struggling with anxiety due to prolonged separation from his family, especially his daughter, also expressed it during his time in the house about feeling deeply homesick and feeling overwhelmed.

Challenges of being in the big brother house 

Abobo deeply expressed how he felt misunderstood by fellow housemates, particularly when standing up against bullying and how he felt he was being shut down , which contributed to his emotional state during the game. Reflecting on his journey post-eviction, he acknowledged the impact of the mental and emotional  challenges he endured. He expressed pride,  also went in detail  how he never expected to progress this far  in the competition.

''I am so happy to make it this , I can't believe I stayed for so long in the house''.

The highlights of Abobo's  departure explore   psychological complexities contestants face in reality TV , unpacking  the profound impact of isolation and interpersonal dynamics on mental well-being.

Speaking about his journey coming to Johannesburg, he described it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and he experience of auditions as it was his first time .He also reflected on taking a chance with his first audition, which ultimately led him to where he is today

'' I was in my balcony and I saw the post and I just give it a shot, I was surprised when I got called''. 

Abobo  shared  on how Big Brother was a huge exposure for him and shared his future plans, expressing his desire to pursue acting. He mentioned that he had already been on screen in a few commercials.  He spoke on the genuine connections he made on the house with housemates like Uyanda, how he contributed to him being on the top ten and their and friendship was more brotherhood.

He spoke on the importance fatherhood as he is a first time dad to a beautiful 2 year old , and how he didn't want to put his family image on disrepute and he wants to be a good role model and to change the black father story and he want to be a  good role model change the black father story in the country.
