Seasoned thespian Sello Motloung is set to be laid to rest on Saturday, September 21.

The actor was known for his roles on “Nna Sajene Kokobela”, “The Republic”, “The Estate”, “Blood Psalms”, and “The Wife” died on Sunday, September 15.

His funeral service will be at St Huberts Catholic Church in Alexandra and he will be laid to rest at West Park Cemetery.

Motloung has been remembered for his talent, passion, and unwavering dedication. His last role was on “uBab’Stivovo” on Mzansi Magic as Bra Tyd.

The Motloung family spokesperson, confirmed to IOL that there would no memorial service per the actor's wishes. Friends and family will gather at his home in Kempton Park to say their goodbyes before the Requiem Mass in Alexandra. 

According to reports the actor collapsed and died in hospital. News of his passing was announced in a statement by his casting agency Artist Connection.

“We are devastated to inform you of the sudden passing of Ntate Sello Motloung on Sunday 15 September. His family is in shock and we ask that you give them space at this time.

“Sello will forever be remembered as one of our legends and we will miss him tremendously.”

News of Motloung’s death came as the South African public was still reeling in the news of the passing of Darlington Michaels, real name Teboho Ndarana.

Moltloung had even paid tribute to the actor in a Facebook post, recalling their time working together on the 1997 film “Chikin Biznis”.
